Our Philosophy

Welcome to Ecologix Solutions Inc., where we are transforming wildlife conservation and ecological research through an inclusive approach. We believe that ecosystems are deeply connected to human histories, cultures, and governance. By moving away from extractive practices, we embrace collaborative, place-based knowledge systems with western science methodologies that integrate Indigenous and local communities as equal partners in stewardship.

Using systems thinking we explore the relationships between biodiversity and human activities, combining diverse worldviews, traditional ecological knowledge, and scientific research. Our mission is to co-create solutions that sustain ecosystems, respect cultural sovereignty, and dismantle power imbalances in conservation.

Why Does This Matter?

Ecological integrity cannot exist without embracing systems thinking. At Ecologix Solutions, we are committed to reshaping conservation into a discipline that fosters thriving ecosystems and communities for generations to come. Join us in our journey toward adaptive, inclusive, and innovative approaches to research and governance models.

Our Story with the Land

For those who are willing to stay and listen, the Land teaches. That's why we pride ourselves on sustained presence, spending roughly a third of the year living and working alongside the animals and ecosystems we study. This approach goes beyond conventional fieldwork; it's a commitment to being present long enough to notice what the Land is telling us. We observe subtle shifts in animal behavior, fresh sediment left behind by seasonal floods, and faint traces etched into ancient ash layers of the soil. These learnings add to our data collection and help tell the story that conventional science alone can overlook.

Collaborative Efforts

We bring expertise in wildlife biology and social-ecological systems to every project we undertake. We work closely with clients to understand their goals, constraints, and local context, ensuring that the solutions we develop together are both scientifically sound and practically achievable.

When you work with us, you're gaining collaborators who are fully invested in your success. The result is work that meets the highest standards of quality while remaining grounded in real-world application.

Indigenous Led Approach

Indigenous Knowledge holders help shape our research, bringing generations of place-based understanding that informs how we design research studies, collect data, and interpret our findings. We intentionally weave this knowledge with western science, not to fit one into the other, but to create methods that are both rigorous and respectful of the living systems we work within.

This relational, co-led approach transforms observations into conversations with the Land. It allows us to adapt in real time, challenge long-held assumptions about how animals and habitat shape one another, and ask better questions.

Land Acknowledgment

Ecologix Solutions Inc. resides and works in Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 territories.

In our commitment to respect truth, and reconciliation, we recognize that these regions are home to First Nations, including the Cree, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, Dene, Inuit, and Métis peoples, both past and present. We honour the deep connection that the First Peoples of Canada have with this traditional territory and aim to empower Indigenous land management through a partnership built on mutual respect for the Earth. We believe there is much to learn from one another as we work together to protect the natural and sacred landscapes that the First Peoples of Canada have cared for throughout history.
